Our city’s connection to Sintra was established on April 27, 2023, when the preliminary working group for international exchange first visited the city in Portugal. The sisterhood agreement between our city and Sintra was signed on June 23, 2023.

In 1995, the “Cultural Landscape of Sintra” was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Every summer, the “Sintra Music Festival” is held on a large scale in churches, palaces, parks, etc. It is known as a tour and resort destination, drawing many tourists from all over the world.

Our connection with Yangsan City began with the establishment of a sisterhood agreement between Yangsan JC and Yurihonjo JC in April 1981. A friendship MOU was signed on Oct. 10, 1998.
