Rules for Food Waste Disposal
Single-family Homes and Small Businesses
On the designated days for your neighborhood, place your waste in a special container (3ℓ, 5ℓ, 7ℓ, 22ℓ), attach the certificate of payment required by the standard, and leave it in front of your house during the designated disposal time to ensure that the waste is collected.
Multi-unit dwellings (apartment houses)
dispose the waste in the medium-sized collection containers located in front of your house (120ℓ). In houses requiring RFID garbage bags, use individual RFID weighing device for disposal
Using payment certificate
- Payment certificates are sold in the same places where standard plastic garbage bags are sold.
- Payment certificates must to be attached every time food waste is disposed.

Rules for Disposal
- Write your name (store name) and address on the special container
- Waste in non-standard containers or containers without certificates of payment will not be collected.
- Waste will not be collected if it contains excessive liquid or residue of other substances.
- Make sure the specialized containers you purchase are marked with, 'City of Yangsan.'
Items that should be separated from food waste
- Vegetables: onion, garlic, corn, ginger skins/ chives, spring onion, water parsley and other roots / red-pepper seeds, pepper stems, cornstalks, garlic stems
- Fish and shellfish: clams, oysters, cockles, abalones, sea squirts, conches and other shells, fish bones
- Fruit: walnuts, peanuts, chestnuts, acorn, pineapple, and other rigid shells / peach, plums, mango, and other stone fruit seeds
- Meats and such: beef, pork, chicken skins, bones / egg shells, disposable teabags, medical herbs residue
- Remove moisture, place in a standard plastic garbage bag, and dispose
